There are plenty of places to see gay men in San Francisco, but Gay Meet is by far our favorite. It's located in the heart of downtown, right on the steps of the Golden Gate Bridge. It's located in an old warehouse, and it's got some of the best views of the city. We don't care if you like to be a rock star or have the best sex life in the world, there's no reason to stay in San Francisco if you're not a gay man. The location, the view, the vibe. It's your dream and we want to make it happen. There are a ton of gay bars and events that happen around here, and we encourage you to check them out.
Gay meet is located in Golden Gate Park, just steps away from the bridge. We also have an awesome restaurant and bar right here! And if you've got a fancy, large apartment or condo in the Mission (or in the city), just show up and you'll find us. The meet happens at 4pm, and we don't have a big waiting list, so it's always a fun time. Here's the deal: You need to show up by 4pm on Sunday, but not on Sunday, so bring a drink if you can. There's a free shuttle to/from the event, but we can't guarantee a ride, so please be polite and give them a heads -up if you're on your way to a bar. No one will be turned away if they show up, but if you do need to find a car, please let them know. You should be able to meet guys in the following parks: Pacific Heights, Bernal Heights, Castro/Folsom, Pacific Heights, Potrero Hill, Union Square, and a couple of the other spots I mentioned. You will also meet other people in other places, but those are more likely to be in the parks. All times are Central Time.
The event, which was sponsored by the LGBT Center of San Francisco (http://www.lgbtcenter.org/) is at the corner of Market and Market, across from the Gay Pride parade. Parking can be expensive, so if you're going by car please be extra cautious! The event takes place from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm and the line usually forms around 6:00. I'm going to be a guest in the Gay Pride Parade for this event, which is on June 21st, 2011. I've been gay chat us told by people that there will be two things there. One is a gay bar called "Coco" and the other is a gay nightclub called "Frogs & Butter". The former, as I understand it, will be the only bar with a dress code. It is a nice bar, and as the name implies they cater to the gay crowd. There is also a gay club called "Lights and Fire" international cupid app at the corner of 10th and K Streets NW. There will also be booths in both the gay bars and the club. I hope I don't offend anyone with this, but this is what I got from multiple sources. If you have any additional information, please feel free to email me, and I will be happy to add it to this article.
There are about 15 gay bars in DC, but none in the area are as popular as "Wyandotte". They are a friendly neighborhood bar, with booths, and a live DJ every other week. They are open for brunch on Saturday and Sunday. They have a small dance floor and usually have live music on Wednesdays. "Wyandotte" is located at 18th and Market, and is about a block away from the Dupont Circle Metro station. "Wyandotte" is a very popular place, and not too many people will leave at 2pm on a Friday night for another place. "Wyandotte" also happens to be the only gay bar in the DC area how to meet gay guys offline that is open for brunch every other Sunday. There is usually a dance floor on Fridays and Sundays, but the DJs don't often play live music. They also are a gay friendly neighborhood bar, and the DJ will usually play a variety of gay hits on Wednesdays. If you have some free time, you can check out the dance floor and the dance floor usually gets pretty crowded, so if you don't want to wait in the line, you may want to take advantage of the special deals that are offered for gay bars. If you're in DC area, you can grab some good local beer (beer and wine). The bar has been around since 1994, and the menu is mostly the same as the old one. I would say the prices are cheaper than other gay bars in the area, and I'd say the drinks are worth the extra bucks. I would say this is the gay bar for gay men who like to get together with their buddies. The bartenders are super friendly, the drinks are pretty good, and they have a special "gay night" each Friday where the bartenders throw a couple of free drinks to gay men for the first hour. It's fun. This place is located in the District of Columbia, but I'm sure there are gay bars around you too.
One of the best bars in DC for a good time! It's very close to the Capitol. The space is a perfect size and you can watch the city's skyline as you enjoy a chats gays drink in one of the booths. The place has all the usual bars and restaurants, but also has a little bar and some tables for people to sit and watch the action. There's also a bar to watch some hockey. There's also a TV there for you to watch a movie. You can go on a date with this place right here, but that's a story for another time. Just take your time and relax.
